"Young at Heart" Art Show featuring 16 Alaskan artists over 60 at the Primrose Retirement Center off of Lucille Rd. in Wasilla, Alaska.  The center is open daily for viewing or purchasing the art.

I will be teaching a beginner/intermediate oil painting workshop at the Pioneer Schoolhouse on the corner of 3rd & Eagle in Anchorage, Alaska on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the lower level.  We will do some still life exercises first and then proceed to do a simple still life.  A supply list is available by "contacting the artist" from this website or by going to Blaines Art Store in Anchorage.  Reservations for the workshop must be made by Monday, November 9th.

Watercolors of all different garden flowers embracing the magic of color will be featured.  Artic Rose is located next to Simon's & Seafort's famous restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska. 

Stop by to "meet the artists" at the opening reception at Bagel's Alaska on the Palmer/Wasilla Highway.  Twenty six vallery artists represented, including myself.  It will feature 100 miniature original paintings, each priced at $100.  This is a great opportunity to purchase original art for a minimal price.  This event is sponsored by the Valley Fine Arts Association. 

I will be displaying art depicting "bright copper kettles" with a canvas giclee' "Geraniums & Copper" and an original watercolor, "Open Water" depicting "silver white winters" at our local art group's February show, "My Favorite Things" (from the Broadway musical).  I hope you can stop by to see this fun and interesting show.

A 'painting day' is scheduled to take place at Kendall Ford (old Nye Ford) in Wasilla, Alaska.  A show of works from four local artists, including myself, plus come to watch us paint at one of the most scenic spots in Alaska. 

I will be featuring watermedia paintings depicting winter in Alaska.  The show is all set up and I've included some of my special hand knitted items; wool hats and mittens, fun fuzzy slippers and scarves to get everyone "wrapped in winter".  The show continues though the month of December.

A special display in tribute to Fred Machetanz will add to the festive atmosphere of this event.  Originals, prints and cards will be featured.  There is no charge.  Refreshments will be served along with live music.  Join the fun!

The Valley Fine Arts Association will hold a members group art show, "April Showers Bring May Flowers" at Bagel's Alaska in front of the bus barn on the Palmer/Wasilla Highway.  Everyone is welcome to attend the reception being held on the Second Saturday even from 5 - 7 p.m. on April 12, 2008.  Refreshments will be served.

The Valley Fine Arts Association has been invited to participate in the "Abstract" art show in the lower level of the Meta Rosa Center/Clocktower in Wasilla, Alaska for the month of April, 2008.
